About the show

A show about the things we eat, and the people who tell us what to eat.

Every other Tuesday, Aubrey Gordon and Michael Hobbes debunk the junk science behind health and wellness fads — diet books, miracle supplements, and the very long history of selling people on the idea that their bodies are wrong.

Aubrey is the author of "You Just Need to Lose Weight" and 19 Other Myths About Fat People and What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Fat. She writes about fatness and feminism, and was the subject of the documentary Your Fat Friend.

Mike is the co-host of If Books Could Kill, a podcast about the airport bestsellers that ruined the conversation. He spent years as a senior reporter at HuffPost and his work has appeared in The New Republic, The New York Times Magazine, and Slate.

Together they read the books, dig up the studies, and figure out where the wellness industry's claims came from — and whether any of it is true. (It usually isn't.)
